The team provides server and operations management, IT governance and project management services, business unit and enterprise web development services, and technical support. We are seeking a Programmer Analyst III to join our rapidly growing team.

The Opportunity:

As a Programmer Analyst III, you will be in the forefront of the design, coding, and installation of all of our software applications. You will join a team of knowledgeable, dedicated professionals who are intent on making University technology cutting-edge and effective. You will help us to develop and test new programs that meet the changing needs of our business units, as well as analyzing and refining our current applications. First and foremost, our team is here to ensure that our business units can operate successfully, and we take pride in providing exceptional customer service and state-of-the-art applications to help them do so.

The Accountabilities:

Design, code, test, debug, install, document, and maintain moderately complex software applications.
Interact with users to determine their software application objectives, scope, and requirements.
Produce the required analysis and application design, either individually or by actively participating in development process. Produce design specification documents.
Translate design specifications into programming languages.
Develop test data and routines required to test and revise application(s). Ensure application(s) is thoroughly tested before release. Write reports of test results.
Detect, define, and debug programs whenever problems are reported or encountered.
Prepare developer and end-user documentation for other programmers and users in accordance with internal and external standards.
Train users and programmers as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The Qualifiers:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: 3 years.
Expertise:

Sound knowledge of programming and documentation procedures, programming methods, program flow charts, and operator instructions.
Competent to work independently on complex programming activities.
Experience with Media Queries/Responsive Web Development, Git, and Object Oriented Programming.
Familiarity with WordPress, WP Query, and hooks and filters.
Comfortable creating WordPress theme from mockup.
Experience consuming RESTful api’s.
Experience with PHP/Javascript/HTML and CSS (LESS or SASS experience preferred).
Excellent SQL/MySQL knowledge.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated customer service skills.

Ability to oversee student, temporary, and/or resource workers.
