Web Architect

This position will be responsible for working with the Director of Web Services to assess staffing needs and performance as well as identifying and implementing workflow and process enhancements.They will also work closely with the Office of Information Technology to determine web infrastructure needs including, but not limited to, hosting and server configuration, third party integration and software procurement and installation.

Web Services Advocacy/Evangelism

This position will dedicate time towards exploring and learning new technologies and industry trends. It is imperative that UT Dallas ensure we deliver the best possible web solutions. A clear understanding of the technology landscape will be required to accurately identify the best solution for each project’s specific needs.

In addition to gathering information from the technology community, it is important that UT Dallas Web Services be recognized as a leader in the use of modern technologies. This position will help to engage UT Dallas within the technology community through local user groups as well as contribution to open-source projects and participation in industry recognized events and conferences to evangelize our capabilities.

Solution Architecture

This position will work in conjunction with other offices and departments as well as other University resources to establish strong partnerships that result in quality, valuable web solutions.

This position would also assist in the design and review of technical architectures for large-scale development projects and communicating the plan to all stakeholders including those in non-technical fields. This process will also benefit the creation of estimates and time lines for large projects that would otherwise be difficult to analyze at a high level.
