Aboundant is looking for a self-motivated, innovative and efficient web designer that seeks the flexibility and independence of being a remote, contract employee. This position will mostly focus on Web Design using the WordPress CMS, but will also contain some print design and branding, such as logo design.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Portfolio exhibiting a solid understanding of standard design principles such as contrast, repetition, alignment, proximity, font scheming, and color theory
- Working knowledge of the WordPress CMS
- Working knowledge of the Adobe suite of products or their equivalents
- Working knowledge of CSS and HTML
- Reliable access to internet, design software, and computer hardware
- Ability to give and receive critique in a constructive and productive manner
- College degree in related field (i.e. Graphic Design, Computer Science) or equivalent experience
Desired
- Advanced knowledge of CSS and HTML
- Working knowledge of User Interface and User Experience Design
- Working knowledge of advanced WordPress plugins that perform functions such as eCommerce, Membership management, Directory Services,Search Engine Optimization, and others
- Familiarity with church ministries, denominational differences, and theological concepts.
- Bonus: Working knowledge of PhP, JavaScript and its associated libraries, WordPress theming or Plugin design
Job Benefits
As a contractor, you’ll have to provide for most of your own benefits and pay your own taxes, but Aboundant will provide one free hosting account on its Church Website Platform, and will pay you to volunteer for an approved social justice cause, up to an hour per week. Training and coaching will be provided as needed. You’ll be enrolled in Aboundant’s dynamic profit sharing plan and earn financial credit every hour you work.
