About the job

We’re looking for a technical SEO expert to work on 321 Ignition and our customer’s websites and blogs. You’ll be responsible for optimizing websites traffic by conducting the technical audits, analysis, and implementation of technical recommendations to help reduce website page load time, uncover and remedy web crawling issues, analyze JavaScript rendering, and more. We’re a mobile-first company, so you must be a subject matter expert in technical and local SEO for desktop and mobile. Communication is a big part of the job; you’ll need to lead and collaborate internally as well as across departments and get things done. We’re looking for SEO expert passionate about disrupting an antiquated industry and helping dealerships increase their profit.

This role is a remote position, and you will be working independently.

Responsibilities 

  • Our dealer website is a custom-built platform, so this will be a technical position. WordPress skills are nice to have since we might end up building our blog on that platform, but the day to day work will be done in our custom-built platform, and you will be collaborating with our Product Dev team to make any required changes or updates.
  • Create customized reports and present findings to business stakeholders, customers, senior and executive leadership teams
  • Build cross-functional relationships by providing SEO insights and strategic recommendations that can have a profound impact on the organization
  • Implement processes to educate UX, content managers, web developers, business stakeholders, and others on SEO best practices and content optimization
  • Stay current with industry developments and participate in the SEO online community
  • Identify gaps and opportunities and make recommendations and tracking improvements to lift organic rankings and traffic 321 Ignition properties (mobile and web)
  • Manage keyword rank tracking and reporting
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research
  • Collaborate and support our Product Dev and Paid Media team to help dealerships increase their organic ranking

  • Expert knowledge at how to get listed in SERP Rich and Featured Snippets, Reviews, Knowledge Panel, Sitelinks, Images, People Also Ask, Top Stories, Videos, and Local SEO
  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Passionate about SEO with a pulse on the industry

Requirements 

  • 2+ years of relevant SEO experience required
  • Knowledge of Conversion Rate Optimization and UX principles and methodologies… we don’t just make changes for search engines, this job is focused on user-first experiences!
  • Proficient in JS/HTML/CSS/YAML, with an emphasis on how they impact SEO performance.
  • Understanding of how to reduce crawl budget, remedy site performance issues, and implement/troubleshoot structured data using a variety of tools like Moz, Conductor, Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, Copyscape, Xenu Sleuth, GA, GSC, and BWMT
  • Extensive experience using Google Webmaster tools and keyword research tools (e.g. SEM Rush, Ahref, SpyFu, Keyword Planner)
  • Background designing URL structures and navigation elements
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting tags via Google Tag Manager
  • Ability to analyze log files
  • Capable of providing detailed but easy-to-understand analysis and recommendations
  • Experience optimizing robots.txt files, implementing canonical tags, pagination pages, and identifying/ fixing redirect loops
  • Smart, resourceful and energized by staying at the forefront of a field that is always changing
  • Superior knowledge of search engine criteria/algorithms, best practices, trends, and industry developments
  • Strong communication and time management skills

Additional Details 

  • This job is a remote, freelance or contractor position, and very fast-paced
  • We are looking for someone to contribute, 40-hours a week
  • Our CEO is located in Seattle, Washington and while you can be located anywhere, in any time zone, some conference calls required to be during business hours in PST, and you must be fluent in English.
